United States Court-martial and Military Law
Attorney Glenn E. Bradford, of Glenn E. Bradford & Associates, P.C., in Kansas City, Missouri, is a veteran of the United States Air Force and former military prosecutor and defense counsel with the Judge Advocate General's office. During the Viet Nam War, Mr. Bradford was assigned to the Judge Advocate General's Department and stationed at Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, Missouri. For the next four years, Mr. Bradford served as a military prosecutor and defense counsel, handling General, Special and Summary Courts-Martial, as well as administrative discharge cases for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Marine Corps. In July of 1974, Mr. Bradford assumed the position of Area Defense Counsel for Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base, Whiteman Air Force Base and for the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Leavenworth, Kansas. Mr. Bradford was one of the original Area Defense Counsels appointed at the outset of the program.
During his four-year tour of duty, Mr. Bradford was co-counsel in the case of DeChamplain v. McLucas, decided by the United States Supreme Court in 1974. M/Sgt. DeChamplain was accused of espionage in one of the most publicized military prosecutions of the era. In his last year of military service Mr. Bradford traveled extensively across the United States as requested military counsel in a number of court-martial proceedings. Completing his active duty commitment in July, 1976, Mr. Bradford went to work as a trial lawyer with a large Kansas City, Missouri, law firm in the civil litigation department.
Mr. Bradford later served as a partner in several Kansas City law firms until 1993, when he formed his own firm. The firm's current practice includes a wide spectrum of litigation, including personal injury and military law. The attorney has a substantial appellate practice, having appeared on behalf of clients on every level of state and federal court, including Missouri Supreme Court, the Federal Eighth and Tenth Circuits and the United States Supreme Court. He is prepared to travel world wide to represent current and former members of the U.S. armed forces.
In Mr. Bradford's thirty-three years of practice as a trial lawyer he has tried more than 135 jury trials, including civil and criminal cases in state and federal court, court-martial cases in military courts, and civilian and military appeals.
